5th Weekend Meeting in July, 2016
Photos
We rejoiced at the Lord's blessings upon us during the 5th Weekend Meeting in July, 2016. Numerous visitors joined us for three days of worship and fellowship in the gospel. Elder Bryce Lowrance, pastor of Brentwood Hills PBC, Fort Worth, Texas, was our guest minister. He preached four very edifying messages, the audio of which is available on the "Bethel Pulpit" page. It was a special treat to welcome his dear wife, Sister Terry, and their five children, Rebecca, Gracie, Jonah, Luke and Asa, with us for the weekend of meetings. Thanks to all who visited us. Please join us again soon.

2016 Communion Meeting
Photos
Our 2016 Communion Meeting was observed June 25-26, 2016. Elder Ricky Harcrow (AL) was our visiting minister. The meeting was well-attended and blessed by the Lord. How wonderful to hear such powerful preaching, sublime singing, fervent prayers and warm, loving fellowship with fellow believers! As a special token of Divine favor, we rejoiced to see two young people come home to the church and follow Christ in baptism. Both were baptized at the conclusion of the Sunday morning worship service, enabling them to partake of their very first Communion service on Sunday afternoon.

Grace Singing School at Liberty Hill PBC
Photos
We really enjoyed attending Grace Singing School at Liberty Hill PBC, Oakboro, NC during the first week in August, 2015.. Elder Branan Hooven, a former pastor here, is pastor of Liberty Hill. He and the members worked very hard to host the meeting and extended warm Christian hospitality to my family, Br Marshall and Sis Laura Gaskey, and Br Cecil and Sis Marilyn Suggs, the Bethel constituency.  Elder Bryce Lowrance from Texas was the instructor for three days and approximately 200+ Primitive Baptists from several states attended. It was a wonderful time of fellowship in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The focus was on the importance of worship and singing with an understanding of the truth and in the joy of the Holy Spirit. Over and again, Br Bryce emphasized that the most important thing about our song service is "the words, the words, the words," not technical perfection. He gave a wonderful summary on Monday afternoon about why we practice acapella, congregational singing without the aid of instrumental accompaniment. It was such a wholesome place to be and I returned with my batteries recharged.

Each day began with a 30 minute message by Elder Branan Hooven on the theme for the week, "God's Sufficient Grace." We sang our "Do, Re, Mi's", worked through several hymns, learned to beat time and lead singing, ate hearty meals and fellowshipped together with those of like precious faith. Each day ended with congregational singing. I must say that the evening sessions when we sang together as a congregation proved to be a real blessing to my soul, as the Lord's presence was felt among us.

On Wednesday afternoon, we went to a local nursing home and sang for one hour to the residents. It was such a sweet time of ministry to the shut-ins, especially to witness our young folks take such delight in the effort. The residents all seemed to rejoice in the experience.

Singing at Autumn Care Nursing Home
Photos
We enjoyed the opportunity to minister by song to the residents of Autumn Care Nursing Home in Shallotte, NC on the first Sunday afternoon in June, 2015. One of our own, Sis. Olive McLamb, was happy to join us that day. Sis Olive has since gone home to be with the Lord.
